I also used to think the Melbourne Ruby community was lifeless when I saw
the web site, luckily for me I knew a Ruby dev who told me about the
mailing-list.

FYI other developer community (.net) are equally lax in maintaining their
community web-sites, some more than others, so you are in good company; or
are you. :-)
